Michael Kendrigan, of Northport, claimed a $1 million prize after hitting it big on the VIP Millions scratch-off game, New York Lottery announced.
He took home a lump sum payout of $651,000 after paying Uncle Sam his cut.
Kendrigan snagged the lucky ticket in East Northport, at the Smoke & Beer convenience store located at 216A Laurel Road.
Scratch-off games have proven incredibly lucrative for Suffolk County school districts, having contributed over $273 million in Lottery Aid to Education funds during fiscal year 2023-2024, according to lottery officials.
